Christmas, New Years and all that...part 2

On to the big day...well, Christmas Eve to begin with, where we have our own family Kris Kringle and the boys received some new PJ's and t-shirts to wear Christmas Day!

Louis...

Dylan...

Ethan...

and Jayden...

We nearly forgot to leave out food for Santa!  I had to get the boys out of bed to quickly put a plate together...secretly I think Santa would have been pretty pleased with those snacks!

Christmas day...pressie time and we had a yummy breakfast of  ham and cheese croissants and fruit salad.

Then into the car and off to my sisters for our family Christmas.  Of course there were more presents and a tonne of food!  She always does an amazing job of hosting.

We forgot to get a family photo this year.  You can tell that the more tired I am the less photos I take...haha.

The kids had a great swim in the new pool...

and my brother was up to his usual antics!

After a great afternoon we once again jumped in the car and drove to Michael's brother Danny's house.  I'm annoyed I didn't take many photo's and those I did take didn't turn out so well...

Danny owns a company called Wicked Witch Software and the boys are always in heaven playing computer games at his house!

On our way home on Boxing day we stopped in at Michael's other brother Col's house and caught up with baby Dominic! These kids grow so fast it's crazy!

Next stop home...

What a fun Christmas!

Christmas, New Years and all that...Part 1...

We had a great festive season!  Here's a brief overview:

It began with the annual Visser Christmas at the park.  Lots of relaxing, laughs and the kids having water fights and riding bikes.

Michael with his brother Danny and cousin Mark.

Followed a week later by Christmas at my Aunties house.  Lots of great food and more water fights.  We had the car super festive until it rained!!

My Aunty Nella is usually the first to encourage the kids to play and have fun...of course she found the largest water gun!

After we left we checked out some of the local Christmas lights.  There is a great place on Vista Dve in Chirnside Park that is worth a visit...

We then trekked up to my sisters house ready for a good nights sleep so we would have plenty of energy for our trip to Melbourne the next day.

In the morning we were up bright and early with my niece Kelly and her boyfriend Brandon and headed to the train station.

We only just made it after I had to organise Myki cards for all of us and put money on them!  Finally we were on our way...

Flinders St Station...

We checked out the Lego Christmas tree at Federation Square...

and met up with my friend Bean and her girls ready for an adventure through the city.  We walked across the bridge and headed down Southbank...

and to Crown Casino to watch the Christmas show.

We then walked all the way to Bourke St to check out the Myer windows.  The line was so long that we decided to have a rest and something to eat before saying farewell to our friends and heading back to the train station.

The kids were tired and a little mischievous on the train on the way home.  I think such a busy couple of days took it's toll on all of us.  It all worked out well in the end though because the boys were all asleep within 20 minutes and I was able to drive the hour and a half home in peace and quiet!

With all of that fun and excitement done with, it was time to get ready for the main event!

August bits & pieces...

A few bits and pieces from August.

The boys have been doing little RAKs (Random Act of Kindess) for us...this was Dylans creative version for me made with the kinetic sand...

Life has some amazing big moments...falling in love, getting married, having children, going on long awaited holidays...but at the end of the day our lives are mostly made up of ordinary, everyday moments and I want to make the most of them a whole heap more...

This print came with the A Beautiful Mess Happy mail monthly subscription...Love it!

I had a sick Mr. Ethan at home...poor little munchkin was really unwell for a couple of days...

We trekked down to the suburbs to celebrate my niece and nephews birthday...

Happy Birthday Lachlan and Chloe!

My brother and his beautiful family...

Little Emily is getting so big!

My Dad...

Michael busy working on the plaster...

Jayden finally got his new car seat...he feels like such a big kid now!

I surprised the boys with a mysterious happy  mail parcel in the post of the new Andy Griffiths book.  This series is so fun for the boys to read.  While Louis looked at me and knew straight away that I had "sent" it, the other boys were just surprised! Haha.

Date & walnut loaf...so yum...

Michael took Louis over to his parents and Louis had a try of the air rifle.  Not my cup of tea but he was so excited about it...I guess that may be part of boys growing up in the country!

A Jayden and Mummy selfy...sometimes it's just go to be done...

We had our monthly chiro visit and thought we'd spoil the family to a dinner out afterwards (instead of the usual take away).  Michael chose the pub and we were quickly reminded as to why we very rarely go out for dinner with all six of us.  The boys did so well and were very patient but the bigger boys weren't very satisfied with the kids meals anymore, they forgot our main meals (we didn't get them until 8.10pm!) and by then the boys were so tired we scoffed it paid the $123 total and got out of there!  $123 for a family of 6 to go to the pub???  Maybe we've just been out of it for a long time but that is a lot of money to us and definitely wasn't worth it.  We won't be doing that again in a hurry!

This was a lot of fun...we painted a piece of acrylic and used a cotton bud to make our pattern/pictures and then printed on a piece of paper.  We loved how they turned out!

Finally a bike ride with the boys.  Trying to fit it in on a beautiful sunny winters day but just before we start to get the magpies swooping!  Louis and Dylan were tired after a scout camp but Ethan was very excited.  Not a great photo but good for the memories!

Thanks August...you've been great but we really are hanging out for the warmer weather now!
